AS A JUNIOR (2016)
Finished his junior campaign with a 1-3 record and a 7.30 ERA (10-ER, 12.1-IP) … struck out three batters in 1.2 innings of work at home on April 15 vs. Kansas, allowing one hit … earned the win in the team's first of a three-game series against UCLA (Mar. 11), tossing 1.2 scoreless innings and striking out three Bruins … pitched 0.2 scoreless innings at Texas State (Mar. 1) in Texas' 10-4 win … started the season with a pair of appearances out of the bullpen against UNLV (Feb. 19-20), pitching 1.1 scoreless innings and striking out two batters
AS A SOPHOMORE (2015)
Picked up his second save of the season April 17 against Kansas by recording the final two outs in the 14th inning at Kansas with one strikeout … had a scoreless inning on March 10 vs. Incarnate Word, surrendering a hit and two walks in the frame … pitched 1.1 innings on February 25 vs. UTPA, allowing one unearned run and one walk while striking out one … notched his first career save February 20 vs. Minnesota by tossing the final three innings of a 13-2 victory, allowing only one unearned run on one hit and striking out four in the outing … tossed two scoreless innings in relief against UTSA on February 17 while striking out one and allowing just two hits … pitched three innings of relief against Rice on February 14 (game one) and allowed one run on five hits and one walk, while striking out one.
AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
Made two appearances spanning 2.1 scoreless innings on the year … struck out one and allowed one hit in an inning of work against Valparaiso on March 4 … made his first career appearance Febraury 18 against Texas A&M Corpus Christi when he threw 1.1 scoreless innings in relief … named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2014 spring semester.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played four years at Troy High School in Troy, Texas … played pitcher all four years as well as first base his freshman and sophomore years … was named District MVP and first team all-state both his junior and senior seasons … also named first team all-district his sophomore season … also played three years of varsity basketball and football, playing quarterback his junior year.

Son of Paul and Lola Malmin in Troy, Texas … has one brother, Eric who played football at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor from 2006-2008 … majoring in applied learning and development with a minor in kinesiology.
