Selected in the eighth round by the Milwaukee Brewers...signed with the Brewers on June 28, 2019...named the inaugural Spike Owen Defensive Player of the Year following the 2017 season.
AS A JUNIOR (2019)
Missed the 2019 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018)
Named to the All-Big 12 second team as an infielder and the Austin Regional All-Tournament Team…finished second on the team with a .291 batting average…had a .404 OBP and a .445 SLG on the year to go along with 31 stolen bases, the most since Tim Moss stole 40 in 2002…led the team with 11 bunt singles and six triples…fielded at a .964 clip this year and helped turn a nation-leading 73 double plays…walked 43 times to just 40 strikeouts on the year…went 5-for-16 with three stolen bases and four runs scored during the Austin Regional…on June 1 vs. Texas Southern, stole home…rode a 13-game hitting streak from May 1 through June 3…on May 15 vs. Texas State, went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a home run…it was his fifth home run of the season…homered in all three games against Texas State this season…on May 1 vs. the Bobcats, the San Marcos native went 2-for-4 and hit a walk-off grand slam to send Texas to an 11-10 win…it was the first career walk-off for Hamilton…also hit his first career home run in his home town on March 27 at Texas State…in three games vs. Texas State, hit .667 (8-for-12) with three runs, three home runs, eight RBI, and two walks…drove in 8 runs in three games from May 1-5…on April 17 vs. UTRGV, went 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, and a career-high 6 RBI…did not start in four games from March 16-20 while recovering from a shoulder and thumb injury…drew a career-high three walks on March 14 at Arkansas…made his first career start at second base on March 11 vs. Stanford…reached base safely in his first 14 games to start the year, with at least one hit in 11 of those 14…went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a double on Feb 25 at LSU…opened the season with a leadoff triple in the first on Feb 16 vs. Louisiana.
AS A FRESHMAN (2017)
Named to the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team at shortstop…finished the year 14-for-16 in stolen base attempts…his 14 bags were tied for most on the team…had 8 sacrifice flies on the season, eighth-most in the country…helped turn 52 of the team’s 65 double plays on the year…the 65 double plays were also fourth-most in the nation…started and played in 62 of the Longhorns’ 63 games…played spectacular defense for Texas…on May 24 vs. Oklahoma at the Big 12 Conference tournament, doubled three times for a career-high three hits in the Texas win…on April 15 at Baylor, made an incredible play in the hole and threw across the diamond to keep the game tied…on Feb 18 in game one vs. Rice, collected his first career hit and first career RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL
Started at shortstop in each of his four seasons at San Marcos High School…ended his high school career by helping lead the Rattlers to only their second-ever regional quarterfinal appearance…following his senior season, named a Rawlings-Perfect Game First Team All-American…also named Texas All-Region First Team…earned All-State honors in 2014 and 2015…also played football at San Marcos HS, quarterbacking the Rattlers in his junior and senior seasons.

Drafted in the 28th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Angels…son of Bessie Hamilton and David Hamilton Sr.…his father played baseball at Southwest Texas (now Texas State) from 1986-87.
