AS A JUNIOR (2017)
Made 17 appearances (12 starts) for the Longhorns in 2017…went 3-2 and recorded 2 saves while striking out 52 in 73.1 innings pitched…as a starter, he registered a 2.90 ERA and held opponents to a .224 batting average against…on June 4 at Long Beach State in the NCAA Regional, got a no decision after going 7.0 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4…earned back-to-back saves on March 10 and March 11 vs. UCLA…made his longest career outing on March 4 at Stanford…went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and one walk while striking out four…it was the first time in his career he’d pitched into the ninth inning…earned his first win of the season in his first start of the year, a 5-4 win over Rice on Feb 18…he went 6.0 innings, allowing one run on 7 hits and one walk while striking out 6 to help head coach David Pierce to his first win on the 40 Acres.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016)
Earned 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball honors … finished with a 3-2 record and a 3.72 ERA in 15 games (14 starts) for Texas … went five innings on May 27 vs. Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament … struck out four batters and stranded four baserunners on May 20 vs. Baylor … allowed only one run and struck out six batters in six innings pitched, giving him his third win of the year on April 24 vs. Texas Tech … earned his second win of the year on April 15 vs. Kansas, allowing one run on four hits in 5.2 innings … pitched into the seventh inning (6.1 IP) on April 10 at Kansas State … allowed only one run in that outing against the Wildcats for his third quality start of the season … allowed just one earned run and walked a season-low one batter in five innings on April 3 at Oklahoma … started the first of a three-game series vs. Tulane (March 18) that went just two innings before it was suspended due to weather … got his second start of that weekend series on March 20 … pitched seven scoreless innings and picked up nine strikeouts in his two combined outings against the Green Wave … had his second quality start of the season (6.0 IP, 3 ER) in a start against California (March 4) … set a personal best in innings pitched (7.0) and strikeouts (9) while allowing two runs in his first win of the season on February 26 vs. Stanford.
AS A FRESHMAN (2015)
Had a 2.21 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 38 innings pitched … made four starts and another 21 appearances in relief with one save and one win … started and pitched a career high six innings in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game against Oklahoma State on May 24, allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out a career-best seven … held a 1.00 ERA over 18 innings in Big 12 regular season play with 19 strikeouts … earned his first career win May 17 at Baylor (game two) by starting and hurling a career-high five frames of shutout ball with four strikeouts, while allowing just three hits and three walks … struck out a career-high five against Oklahoma State on April 4 while not allowing a run in 2 2/3 innings of work … tossed three innings with three strikeouts, two walks and one run on one hit allowed in a no decision against Texas A&M Corpus Christi (March 31) … hurled two shutout innings on March 15 vs. West Virginia with three strikeouts and just two hits allowed to preserve a 5-1 win … spun 2 1/3 shutout frames of relief at Stanford (March 8), allowing just two hits and a walk in the outing while striking out one … pitched a shutout eighth inning on February 25 against UTPA while allowing only one hit … tossed a scoreless ninth inning against Minnesota (Feb. 21, game one) to preserve a 5-0 victory … made his college debut and earned his first career save in the same appearance against Rice on February 15 when he entered in the top of the 10th inning with a one-run lead and a runner on second with one out, and retired two batters (one strikeout) to preserve a 4-3 Texas win … named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2014 fall semester.
HIGH SCHOOL
Two-year letter winner as a pitcher at Flower Mound High School under Coach Danny Wallace … went 11-2 with a 0.30 ERA, 129 strikeouts and just 17 walks as a senior … named Dallas Morning News Player of the Year, Texas Sports Writer's Association Player of the Year, first team All-State and first team all-district during his senior campaign … pitched a perfect game in the second round of the state playoffs, striking out 16.
