BEFORE TEXAS
· Pitched two seasons for San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas under Coach Tom Arrington.
· Logged a 4-1 record, 2.62 ERA, 34 strikeouts and one save in 30.1 innings while helping his team earn an overall 44-14 record, No. 4 ranking national and Region 14 title his sophomore year.
· Helped the Gators earn a No. 3 national ranking, a 36-22 record and Region 14 title as a freshman.
· Selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 43rd round of the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
HIGH SCHOOL
· A two-year varsity letterwinner as a right-handed pitcher and first baseman for Coach David Sitton at Humble (Texas) High School.
· Batted .402 with 41 runs, 10 doubles, two triple, eight home runs and 47 RBI while finishing with a .687 slugging percentage his senior year.
· Helped his team become regional finalists with a 29-8 record while earning team MVP, all-district honors, all-state honors, All-Houston accolades and the Houston Chronicle Player of the Week as a senior.
