Talented left-hander who has been used in a number of roles while in Austin, including starter and middle and short relief ... a power pitcher who can dominate opposing hitters with both speed and movement ... expected to bolster bullpen in 2008.

2007 SEASON
· Appeared in seven games for the Horns, including six starts.
· Posted a 1-0 record with a 10.80 ERA and nine strikeouts in 13.1 innings.
2007 HIGHLIGHTS
· Earned a win against Winthrop (3/14), allowing one run on two hits and two walks over three innings.
· Pitched one inning of scoreless relief against Nebraska (4/20) in his only Big 12 appearance, fanning one Cornhusker.
· Pitched for Heath Autry[apos]s Coppell Copperheads in the Texas Collegiate League.
· Posted a 2-2 record with a 6.08 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 40 innings for the Copperheads.
FRESHMAN (2006)
2006 SEASON
· Appeared in 20 games and made one start.
· Owned a 4-1 record to go along with a 3.89 ERA, one combined shutout and a team-low .173 batting average against over his 39.1 innings.
· Ranked fourth on the team with 48 strikeouts.
· Went 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA, which was good for third on the club, during Big 12 Conference action as he made eight relief apperances and struck out 23 over 20.2 innings in league play.
· Held league opponents to a team-low .141 average.
2006 HIGHLIGHTS
· Made his first career start and appearance in a UT uniform at San Diego (2/4) and struck out a pair over 3.1 innings.
· Fanned five over two innings of relief against UT Pan American (2/8).
· Recorded all four of his outs in relief via strikeout over a 1.1-inning effort against No. 2 Rice (2/11) during the Houston College Classic en route to notching his first collegiate victory.
· Pitched a shutout inning of relief in two of Texas[apos] three games versus Villanova (2/24 & 26) while posting three strikeouts on Feb. 24.
· Worked three innings in relief at UNLV (3/5) and allowed only one unearned run on two hits while fanning a pair en route to the win.
· Retired the one batter he faced against No. 11 Arizona State (3/14).
· Tossed 2.2 shutout innings and fanned three at No. 19 Baylor (4/13).
· Allowed only one run on two hits while fanning five over 3.2 innings of work versus No. 3 Nebraska (4/22).
· Struck out a career-high six over a career-best four innings of relief at Texas A&M (4/30) en route to notching his third win of the year.
· Appeared in the first and third games of UT[apos]s series with Kansas (5/5 & 5/7) and combined for four no-hit innings of relief in those two outings while walking only one and striking out three.
· Fanned five over four innings of relief at Missouri (5/20).
· Struck out four over 2.1 innings of relief en route to picking up a victory versus Baylor (5/25) during Big 12 Tournament action.
· Pitched for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League under the direction of Coach Harvey Shapiro.
· Appeared in nine games, including five starts, logging a 1-3 mark with a 6.16 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 38 innings for the Braves.
HIGH SCHOOL
· Lettered in each of his four years and served as a team captain during his senior season for Coach Ron Eastman[apos]s The Woodlands High School baseball team while being used as a pitcher and outfielder.
· Helped the Highlanders post 19-10 and 28-6 records as a freshman and
senior, respectively, while tallying at least 30 victories in 2003 and 2004 (30-5 in 2003 and 32-6 in 2004). Also aided the club in winning three consecutive District 14-5A Championships (2003-05).
· Assisted The Woodlands in reaching the Region II quarterfinals in both 2003 and 2004 before making a run to the Region II semifinals during his senior year. The Highlanders earned a No. 8 state ranking to go along with a No. 27 national ranking in 2005.
· Batted a career-high .413 at the plate in 2004 while also boasting a 6-0 record on the mound to go along with five saves, 56 strikeouts over 42 innings and a 1.84 ERA that placed him on the 2004 5A All-Greater Houston Area Leaders List.
· Also posted a .630 slugging percentage and a .509 on-base mark as a junior en route to earning first-team All-District and All-County honors.
· Aided Coach Phil Cross[apos] Houston Heat Silver 18U baseball team in winning the World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) Fall Championship in 2004. He earned the win in the tournament title game after tossing two scoreless innings of relief and accounting for three of the team[apos]s four RBI.
· Also played for the 2004 Texas Rangers Area Code Team.
· Selected to the 2005 All-Greater Houston Preseason Team.
· Tabbed a first-team all-state, all-district, all-county and All-Greater Houston performer as well as the Montgomery County MVP/Pitcher of the Year as a senior after batting .385 overall and going 7-2 on the mound with two saves and a 0.56 ERA.
· Pitched three consecutive no-hitters for the Highlanders in 2005 while going 23.2 innings without allowing a hit during District 14-5A action.
· Recorded 104 strikeouts over 56.1 innings as a senior to rank on the 2005 5A All-Greater Houston Area Leaders List for strikeouts.
· Also registered .632 and .444 slugging and on-base marks, respectively, as a senior while amassing seven home runs and 31 RBI on the year.
· Played in the 2005 Texas and Houston Area High School Coaches Association All-Star games.
· Named a 2005 Pitcher of the Week on four occasions and a 2005 High School Athlete of the Week by The Courier once.
· Received a Commended Performance Honor in history.
· Member of the Fellowship of The Woodlands who worked with special needs youth in Little League Baseball[apos]s Challenger League.
· Pitched for the Houston Heat Silver U18 baseball team in the summer of 2005 and helped the club win the Premier Baseball World Series.

Born Brandon Kyle Walker on June 9, 1987, in Conroe, Texas ... parents are Wayne and Kendall Walker ... has an older sister, Casey, who attended and played basketball (2002-05) at the University of Oklahoma ... his grandfather, William C. Long, graduated and played football (1952-55) at UT ... his mother, Kendall, as well as six other relatives also graduated from The University of Texas ... majoring in corporate communication ... has spent two semesters on the Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll.
