AS A JUNIOR (2018)
Went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs in game two of the Big 12 Tournament and was tabbed with the loss…was named Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing his second complete game of the season…he went 9.0 innings, allowing two runs in the series-opening win on May 17 over TCU…tossed a career-high 127 pitches in the win over then-No. 9 Texas Tech on May 4…allowed a season-high 11 hits but scattered them over 6.1 innings of work…went 7.0 innings but allowed five runs (three earned) and a season-high five walks at West Virginia…did not factor into the decision…allowed three in the first inning but went on to pitch seven frames on April 21 vs. New Orleans…did not start on April 14 but went 4.0 innings in relief on Aprl 15 and picked up the win…he struck out six over the four innings…ent just 2.0 innings for the second straight start on April 6 vs. Baylor…asted just 2.0 innings on March 30 at K-State…allowed two runs on three hits before exiting…was named Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week by the league last Monday…Went 8 innings, allowing one run on 7 hits and no walks while striking out 5 to earn the win…closed out last Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Sam Houston State with a one-two-three ninth inning…went the distance last Friday vs. Kansas for his first complete game of the season…allowed five earned in 6 innings pitched on March 9 vs. Stanford…allowed 3 runs in 5.2 innings of work while walking 3 and fanning 7…on Feb 28 vs. UTSA, earned his third career save when he entered in the 9th in a 2-0 game…last Feb 23 at LSU, allowed 8 runs (4 earned) in just three innings of work for his first loss of the year…earned Perfect Game/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Week honors (2/20) after his performance in the season opener…went 8.0 shutout innings vs. Louisiana (2/16), allowing three hits and one walk while striking out a career-high 10 batters…named to the 2018 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list…named an NCBWA preseason All-America third team selection and a Collegiate Baseball preseason All-America third team selection.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017)
Was an All-Big 12 First Team selection…named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list…finished with a team-high 10 wins, going 10-4 with a 2.84 ERA in a team-most 92 innings pitched…appeared in 16 games with 13 starts…allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 13 starts on the year…went 7 innings or more in 9 of his 13 starts…earned his 10th win of the year on June 2 vs. UCLA in the Longhorns’ first NCAA Regional game…went 7.2 innings, allowing just one run on 6 hits…he walked none and struck out 5 in the game, making him the Horns' first 10-game winner since Taylor Jungmann in 2011…on May 25 in the Big 12 Championship tournament, tossed a complete game vs. Kansas…did not walk a better and struck out 7 to keep the Longhorns in the winners’ bracket…allowed a season-high 10 hits on May 19 vs. West Virginia but allowed just 2 runs and picked up the win…on March 24 vs. K-State, tossed his first career complete game shutout, going 9 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out five for the win…that effort earned him his first Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors…struck out a season-high 8 batters on March 2 at Stanford and threw 7 shutout innings…made his first career start on Feb 22 at Sam Houston State and earned the win with 5 shutout innings…made his first appearance of the year in the season opener vs. Rice…threw 3 innings, allowing one unearned run on one hit to go along with two strikeouts.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016)
Earned his second win of the season on May 21 vs. Baylor, striking out four and allowing one earned run in 3.1 innings of relief work … did not allow an earned run in 3.1 innings on April 30 vs. Oklahoma State … on April 23 at Texas Tech, threw three near-perfect innings for his second save of the year … his only blemish was a hit by pitch in the ninth … posted two scoreless innings out of the bullpen against Houston on April 12 at Constellation Field … earned his first career win following two scoreless innings and two strikeouts on March 22 vs. UTSA … on March 20 vs. Tulane, struck out two batters in 1.1 innings … on March 15 at Texas A&M, held the Aggies scoreless in one inning of work while adding a strikeout … registered his first career save at UCLA on March 11, tossing one scoreless inning to close out the Longhorns' 7-5 victory … made his first career start on February 25 vs. Stanford, posting 4.2 shutout innings while allowing just two hits … made his first career appearance out of the bullpen on February 20 vs. UNLV, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out one batter.
HIGH SCHOOL
A three-year starter who has pitched and played shortstop and first base … had a 3.43 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 53 innings on the mound as a junior, while hitting .421 with 23 runs and 23 RBIs … a first team Northwest selection as a pitcher in 2014 … a 2014 Perfect Game Underclass First Team All-American.
