AS A SOPHOMORE (2016)
Finished first on the team with a .477 slugging percentage on the season … compiled a .297/.379/.477 final line for the year … earned 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball honors … reached base safely in 23 straight games from April 1-May 17 … went .306/.402/.435 during that 23-game streak with 26 hits and 15 BB/IBB … went 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored on May 8 vs. West Virginia, extending his on-base streak to 22 games … had three RBI in each of the three games played at Texas Tech (April 22-24) … went 5-for-10 (.500) during that weekend series against the Red Raiders … registered one hit in each of the team's three games vs. Kansas (April 14-16) … went 4-for-10 (.400) with 3 RBI from April 8-10 at Kansas State … homered in his first at-bat on April 9 at K-State … knocked a pair of doubles and contributed added three RBI in the team's 5-3 win on April 2 at Oklahoma … from March 24-26 vs. TCU, went 5-for-12 … hit the eventual game-winning home run in the fifth inning in game one of the series on March 24 … started all three games of the Longhorns' series against Tulane (Mar. 18-20), going 3-for-12 with one RBI in each game … on March 18 vs. Tulane, returned to the outfield for the first time since his injury on February 25 vs. Stanford … went 5-for-11 in the team's series at UCLA, including a 3-for-4 day and a home run in the final game of the series … missed seven games from February 26 to March 5 due to a pulled hamstring … made his first start back from injury (at designated hitter) on March 8 vs. Sam Houston State … opened scoring with an RBI single in the second inning, batting 1-for-3 in the Longhorns' 12-3 win … went 3-for-11 (.273) in the team's opening series against UNLV (Feb. 19), hitting a pair of home runs and adding a double.

Recorded his first career collegiate hit, an RBI single, in the eighth inning of the Big 12 Championship game vs. Oklahoma State on May 24 … scored a run against UTPA on February 25 …. started, stole a base and scored a run vs. Minnesota on February 22 … earned his first collegiate start February 21 against Minnesota (game two) … made his collegiate debut against Rice on February 14 (game one) when he entered the game as a pinch-hitter.
