AS A REDSHIRT-SOPHOMORE (2017)
Made 12 appearances for the Longhorns, all in relief…compiled a 1.56 ERA in 17.1 innings of work…did not allow a run in 9 of his 12 appearances, and allowed just one in each of those other three…walked 7 and struck out 13 on the year…went a career-long 3.0 innings on May 27 vs. TCU in the Big 12 Conference tournament…allowed just four hits and no runs in seven appearances from March 7 to May 2…had four straight hitless outings from March 19 to April 18.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016)

AS A FRESHMAN (2015)
Earned his first collegiate win in his first start (a designated start), going 2.2 innings and allowing just a hit batsman while striking out one against Incarnate Word on March 10 … pitched a scoreless frame against Minnesota on February 22, striking out two and surrendering two hits … tossed a scoreless inning with one hit in his collegiate debut against Rice on February 14 (game two) … named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2014 fall semester.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year varsity letter winner as a pitcher and utility man for coach Nelson Randolph at Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, Calif. … posted a 1.12 ERA with 100 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings as a senior … had a 1.05 ERA as a junior in 20 innings pitched … ranked as the 16th best right-handed pitcher in California by Perfect Game … tossed a three-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts in the state championship game his senior year … hit a triple and double in the game to lead his team to a 6-0 victory … was named All-League and second team All-Region as a senior … member of the 2013 Oakland Athletics Area Code Team … named an Optimist All-Star and Academic All-League as a senior as well … also played basketball all four years of high school and football his freshman year.

Son of Bill and Sheridan Schimpf … has a brother, William, and two sisters, Crystal and Tammy … cousin Tyler Waldron pitched at Oregon State and is now in the Pirates organization … selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round of the 2014 MLB Draft … hasn’t declared a major but is interested in health promotion.
