AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2018)
Posted a 5-6 overall record during her final season in the Burnt Orange & White with a 3.30 ERA over 24 appearances with 14 starts, two complete games, five saves and 75 strikeouts over 80.2 innings ... Suffered a pair of tough losses during the NCAA Seattle Regional (May 18-19), allowing just one earned run in defeats against No. 3 Washington (2.1 IP, May 19) and No. 25/20 Minnesota (3.0 IP, May 19) ... Struck out four over 3.0 innings of one-hit effort in the 6-0 shutout of Texas Southern (April 25) ... Started on her “Senior Day” in the 4-1 loss to No. 24/19 Oklahoma State, allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts over 3.1 innings ... Fired a complete game during the 6-2 series finale win over Texas Tech (April 15) with one earned run on five hits allowed and five K’s ... Struck out six over 4.0 frames of scoreless relief combining the opener and finale of the series sweep of Samford (April 7-8) ... Tied a single-season Texas record by recording her fifth save of the year (2.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER) during the 8-5, series-opening victory at Iowa State (March 29) ... Saved consecutive wins over Kansas (March 24-25) by allowing two combined hits and striking out eight over five total innings of work ... Earned another save with three innings of one-hit effort out of the bullpen in UT’s 4-2 win over Jacksonville State (March 17) ... Picked up her first save of 2018 by tossing 2.2 frames of hitless relief during the 3-1 upset of No. 9/8 Arizona (March 3) ... Was strong in Texas’ 8-0 (5 inn.) win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 28), allowing just one hit and striking out four in 4.0 innings of work ... Picked up her first victory of 2018 at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge by allowing two earned runs on eight hits with no walks and five strikeouts during a 7-3, complete-game win over Houston (Feb. 17).
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2017)
Returned from injury to post an 8-7 overall record with a 1.63 ERA (third in the Big 12), seven complete games, two solo shutouts and 102 strikeouts over 116 innings of work while making 27 appearances (21 starts) ... Registered a career-best scoreless streak of 17 straight frames from April 21 versus Iowa State to May 5 against No. 17 Baylor ... Tossed four complete-game one-hitters in starts against Cal State Fullerton (March 18), Oklahoma State (March 25), Houston (April 2) and Kansas (April 28) ... Took a potential no-hitter into the seventh inning at both CSF and versus Houston before allowing one-out hits ... Proved the winner in the NCAA College Station Regional elimination game over Texas State (May 20) by giving up just one earned run on four hits over 7.0 frames ... Earned the complete-game victory during the Big 12 Tournament opener over Texas Tech (May 12) by striking out seven and permitting one run on three hits in a 7-1 triumph ... Worked a career-high 9.0 innings of two-hit ball and struck out 12 during a tough-luck no decision in an eventual 4-1, 14-inning triumph at Texas Tech (April 13) ... Punched out nine during a complete-game three-hitter as the Longhorns won 8-2 at Loyola Marymount (March 14) ... AS A FRESHMAN (2015)
Finished her inaugural collegiate campaign as the staff ace with an 18-9 record, a 2.42 ERA in 37 appearances (26 starts), 178 K’s over 170.2 innings, 14 complete games and seven solo shutouts ... Earned a third team NFCA All-Central Region nod as well as first team All-Big 12 Conference, Big 12 All-Defensive and Big 12 All-Freshman Team selections ... Won five straight decisions, dating from to April 19 against Iowa State through May 3 against Oklahoma State ... Posted a 0-2 record in her first NCAA Regional action, allowing five total earned runs on six hits over 7.2 combined innings of work in losses to No. 7 UCLA (1-4) and San Diego State (3-4, 9 inn.) ... Picked up both wins in Texas’ weekend sweep of Baylor (May 9-10), including a complete-game Sunday three-hit shutout ... Victorious in two games during the three-game sweep at Oklahoma State (May 1-3) not giving up a run while striking out 14 batters and only allowing two hits over 9.0 innings of work ... Posted a career-long scoreless streak from the circle of 15.0 innings from April 11-24 ... Picked up the win by striking out 10 over five innings, while allowing one walk and three earned runs in the 4-3 victory at Texas Tech (April 24) ... Notched two wins in the series against Iowa State (April 18-19), not giving up a run while striking out 15 and allowing only three hits over 8.1 innings of work ... Picked up the victory during the 10-2 run-rule victory at Texas State (April 3) in complete-game fashion ... Started two games during the series against No. 5 Oklahoma (April 10-11) ... Went 2-0 with a complete-game shutout and 13 K’s over 13.1 innings during Texas’ sweep at No. 22 Kansas (March 27-29) ... Struck out a career-high 13 batters during a complete-game, 3-2 win over UTSA (March 24) in the second game of a doubleheader ... Battled hard over all eight innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits with five walks and four K’s as Texas completed a series sweep at Arkansas (March 16), 8-6 (8 inn.) ... Had a 28-inning streak without allowing an earned run end in the fourth frame of a 7-1 victory over Dartmouth (March 1) ... Struck out a then-career-high 11 batters over six innings of two-hit relief as Texas shutout Charlotte (March 7) at the Carolina Classic, 5-0 ... Was 2-0 at the Texas Invitational with a 0.50 ERA and 15 K’s over 14 innings, including a two-hit shutout and a then career-best 10-strikeout effort during a pair of wins over Dartmouth (February 27 & March 1) ... Stretched her scoreless inning streak to 12.2 before permitting an unearned run during the third frame of a 4-3 loss to No. 18 Missouri (February 20) ... Earned the biggest win of her career and her second ‘W’ over a ranked team by three-hitting No. 8/7 Georgia in a complete-game, 5-0 shutout at the Mary Nutter Classic ... Posted a 2-1 overall mark with a 2.10 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 16.2 innings at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. ... Won her first collegiate game and tossed her first shutout by allowing four hits, walking one and striking out five over 5.0 innings of work in the 15-0 (5 inn.) rout of UCSB (February 6) ... Earned her initial victory over a ranked team on February 8 in the 9-4 win over #16 Arizona State, permitting four earned runs on eight hits with three walks and a career-high seven K’s in 7.0 frames.
TRAVEL BALL
Played for both Texas Eclipse (2011 & 2012) and Texas Impact Gold (2013 & 2014) ... Her respective squads finished second at 2014 Texas Triple Crown, third at both the 2013 Triple Crown Nationals and 2014 Colorado Fireworks tournaments, fifth at the 2014 Triple Crown USA Nationals, ninth at the 2012 & 2013 ASA Gold Nationals and 25th at 2014 Premier Nationals.
BEFORE TEXAS
Wright played four seasons at Huntington High School under the guidance of her mother/head coach Ruth Wright ... During her senior campaign in 2014, she posted a remarkable 31-2 overall record with a 0.50 ERA, 441 strikeouts to just 52 walks over 199.1 innings of work (finished her career with 1,013 strikeouts) and hit .590 at the dish with 48 runs scored, 12 doubles and 17 RBIs ... During her stay at Huntington, Wright was chosen all-state by the Texas Sports Writers Association on four occasions, earning first team accolades in both 2012 (at second base) and 2014 (pitcher), a second team nod in 2011 (pitcher) and an honorable mention inclusion following the 2013 season (pitcher) ... She also reaped 2014 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State and Academic All-State honors, was invited to play in the 2014 TGCA All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas, was named the 2014 East Texas Sports Network Super Team Player of the Year, was listed at No. 56 on Full Count Softball’s Hot 100 seniors and was selected as the 2014 District 20-3A Most Valuable Player for the second straight season (co-MVP in 2013) ... As a junior with the Red Devils, Wright went 14-5 in the circle with a 0.96 ERA, 278 strikeouts, and 44 walks over 124 innings ... She also put up impressive numbers at the dish, hitting .589 with 13 RBIs ... Wright also earned District 18-3A’s 2011 Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman.
