AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2019)
Played in two games, including one start in 2019...made first career start and appearance against Lamar on April 16 and went 1-for-3 with a run scored...during debut against Lamar also tagged out a runner on a play at the plate.
AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
Did not appear in a game during the 2018 season…named to the 2017 Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered in four seasons at Episcopal HS under head coach Matt Fox…as a junior, hit .349/.467/.465…earned the Honor Roll in each of his four years of high school…twice won the Senior League World Series with West U Little League along with teammate Michael Streitmann.
PERSONAL
Parents are Robert and Kristin Gauntt…has two brothers, Travis and Tyler…Robert played baseball at Texas from 1982-84 and was on the National Championship winning 1983 team…his grandfather, Paul, also played baseball at UT from 1956-58…Travis was an outfielder for TCU from 2012-13.
