AS A REDSHIRT SENIOR (2019)
Named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team...the Longhorn's starting catcher and team leader during his senior season...played in 50 of the 54 games, with 44 starts behind the plate...finished with seven doubles, two homers, 16 RBI and 22 runs scored...threw out 23 runners attempting to steal bases during the season...went 1-for-2 with a double at Kansas on May 3...had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored against West Virginia on April 28...went 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored at Oklahoma State on April 20…hit a home run against Lamar on April 16…hit a three run home run against Texas A&M on April 2…went 2-for-4 with a run against TCU on March 24…went 2-for-3 with a RBI and double against TCU on March 22...had a six game hit streak between Feb. 15-23 and over that span he had a double in four different games and a three RBI game against Purdue on Feb. 23…first hit of the season was on Feb. 15 at Louisiana.

Named to the Academic All-Big 12 second team…played in 30 games with 13 starts at catcher…hit .265/.383/.367 with one home run, two doubles, and four RBI…also went 1-for-1 in stolen bases…picked off three base runners this season…went 0-for-0 with two walks and a run scored on June 17 vs. Arkansas in the College World Series…had a pinch-hit single on April 28 at West Virginia…on April 22 vs. New Orleans, went 2-for-4 with a double…went 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base on April 18 vs. Texas Southern…on April 2 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, went 2-for-4 with his first career home run…on March 10 vs. Stanfod, went 1-for-2 with a HBP…collected his first hit of the season on Feb 23 at LSU and drove in a run…drove in his first run of the season on Feb 21 vs. Lamar…made his first start of the season on Feb 18 vs. Louisiana.
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2017)
Returned to the team appeared in 43 games with 32 starts at catcher…hit .268 on the year with four doubles, a triple, and 16 RBI…went 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts…threw out 21.4% of attempted base stealers…went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI on May 25 vs. Kansas in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship tournament…picked up his first career stolen base and a career-high 3 hits on March 12 vs. UCLA…hit his first career triple on March 7 vs. Richmond…hit .500 (10-for-20) over his first 7 games of the season.

Started and had a single and a run scored vs. Minnesota on February 20 ... recorded two hits, including a double, and scored a run vs. UTSA on February 17 … his first collegiate hit was an RBI double in the 10th inning of a tie game against Rice on February 15 that proved to be the game-winner ... named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2014 fall semester.

Son of John and Jana McCann … has two sisters, Nicole and Victoria …Victoria will play softball at Texas State beginning the fall of 2018…majoring in Supply Chain Management.
