COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Despite a four-run, game-tying rally in the ninth, Texas Baseball lost, 5-4, to No. 3 Texas A&M on a walk-off home run Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park.

After going down 4-0 at the end of four innings, the Longhorns needed a big comeback to stay alive.

Texas A&M put up a two-spot on starter Morgan Cooper in the third when, after a leadoff walk and a single, the Aggies loaded the bases on a bunt. A&M followed with an RBI single to second and plated a second run on a throwing error by Joe Baker.

The Aggies added to their lead in the fourth. After Cooper hit the leadoff batter with a pitch, Joel Davis homered to right field to make it 4-0.

Before the ninth, the Longhorns, who outhit the Aggies 9-7 on the night, were a combined 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. That changed in the final frame.

Patrick Mathis led off the ninth with a double to right-center and Kacy Clemens reached on a hit by pitch. After Baker worked a walk to load the bases, freshman Kody Clemens hit a ground rule double to right-center to cut the deficit to two.

With Texas down to its final out and with runners on second and third, Travis Jones worked a seven-pitch walk to reload the bags for Bret Boswell—and the sophomore delivered.

Boswell ripped a single through the left side to score two and knot the game at 4-4.

Ty Culbreth (2-2) took the hill to start the bottom of the ninth and appeared to have a foul popout but the Longhorns defense couldn't make the grab, extending the at-bat for Michael Barash. Barash worked the count full and on the next pitch, hit a solo homer to left field to win it for Texas A&M.

Texas is back in action this weekend for a three-game series against Tulane at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
