No. 4/7 Track and Field preview: NCAA Outdoor Championships

The Longhorns head to historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. In pursuit of national championship glory.
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 4/7 Texas Track and Field program heads back to historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon for the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Longhorns have won 12 team titles, all on the women's side, in the program's illustrious history. Texas' last national title came during the 2006 Indoor season, and last won the national crown outdoors in 2005.
Head coach Edrick Floréal and staff have helped Texas earn 24 total entries into this year's NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Longhorns feature 12 entries for both the men and women's field, tied for the seventh and fifth-most entries by a school nationally this year.
The 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships begin on Wednesday, June 9, with men's competition. The women will take center stage on Thursday before the field alternates men's and women's action again on Friday and Saturday. The men's decathlon will be contested on Wednesday, with the women's heptathlon to be held on Friday and Saturday.
