Freshman Tomasz Berkieta fell in the singles main draw round of 16, while sophomore Abel Forger was downed in the consolation round of 32 on Friday.
Tulsa, Okla. – Texas Men's Tennis concluded play at the at the ITA All-American Championships on Friday in Tulsa, Okla. Freshman No. 88 Tomasz Berkieta fell in the singles main draw round of 16, while sophomore No. 70 Abel Forger was downed in the consolation round of 32.
Both players took their first sets from top-10 opponents but eventually came up short in three sets. For Berkieta, it was against 4 seed No. 8 Theo Papmalamis of Texas A&M, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, while for Forger, it was versus 6 seed No. 10 Matthew Forbes of Ohio State, 6-1, 7-5.
The Longhorns will play their next collegiate even at the Battle of the Bay in San Francisco from Oct. 1-4.
