CAREER
Finished his career with 116 pitching appearances, the second-most in Longhorns history behind Austin Wood’s 118 … compiled a 9-4 record with three saves and a 3.86 ERA (28-ER, 119.1-IP) in his four seasons at Texas … earned Academic All-Big 12 Baseball first team honors in each of his three eligible seasons (sophomore-senior).
AS A SENIOR (2016)
Earned Academic All-Big 12 Baseball first team distinction honors for 2016 … finished the season with a career-high 33 appearances … got two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn a hold in a Longhorns victory over Baylor (May 21) … allowed a single earned run through March 29-May 1 (11 appearances) … made the 100th appearance of his career in 0.1 innings of work to help the Longhorns win on April 2 at Oklahoma … earned his second win of the season after facing a single batter in the fifth inning on March 24 vs. TCU … pitched 9.2 innings over 11 straight appearances without issuing a single walk … had six straight appearances without allowing a run from February 21-March 4 … pitched five innings total during that streak, allowing one hit and zero walks … earned the eighth win of his career and his first of the season in one perfect inning of work against UNLV (Feb. 21).
AS A JUNIOR (2015)
Finished the season with a career ERA 1.69 in 96 innings of work, which ranks eighth nationally among active career leaders … struck out a season high four batters against Oklahoma State April 3 … pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 frames of relief vs. Kansas State March 22 in a 5-3 victory … tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings against UT Arlington on March 17 while allowing just one hit … spun a perfect frame of relief against Incarnate Word on March 10 … had a scoreless inning against UTPA on February 25 allowing only one hit … pitched two shutout innings against Minnesota on February 22 with just one hit allowed … tossed 1 1/3 shutout innings against UTSA on February 17 while allowing three hits … pitched two scoreless innings of relief against Rice on February 13, allowing four hits and striking out one batter … named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2014 fall semester.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014)
A member of the Academic All-Big 12 first team … posted a 2-1 record with a 0.29 ERA, two saves and 27 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings … his 29 appearances tied for the team lead and ranked tied for sixth in the Big 12 … earned his first two career saves in back to back games (6/16 & 6/18) at the College World Series by tossing 2 1/3 scorless frames … pitched a career high four inings of one-run ball against Texas A&M June 1 … picked up his second win of the year on April 4 against Baylor when he threw 1.1 innings in relief with one strikeout … won his first game of the season against Hawai'i on March 7 when he threw 0.2 scoreless innings in relief … named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2014 spring semester.
AS A FRESHMAN (2013)
Made 27 appearances his freshman season, posting a 4-1 record with a 1.53 ERA … in 35 1/3 innings, he allowed 27 hits and six earned runs with 13 walks and 25 strikeouts … opponents hit .213 … allowed only two earned runs in his first 22 appearances (29 innings) … did not allow an earned run in 12 straight games from March 22 through April 30 … threw two no-hit innings as part of a combined seven-inning no-hitter against Texas Southern on May 11 … tied a season high with three strikeouts in two innings on April 30 against Prairie View A&M … threw three scoreless innings to earn the victory on April 23 against Houston, allowing two hits with one walk and one strikeout … threw a season-high 3 1/3 innings on April 9 against Texas State, giving up one unearned run on one hit with one strikeout to earn the win … picked up his first collegiate win on March 28 at Oklahoma State with three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three … made his collegiate debut on Feb. 16 against Sacramento State, allowing one hit in 1 2/3 innings and striking out two … named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2012 fall and 2013 spring semesters.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played at Dawson High for coaches Kerry Cox and Chris Turner … went 6-1 as a senior with a 0.56 ERA while walking 11 and striking out 71 batters … earned 2011 all-state honors as a utility player (second team) and pitcher (third team) … earned 2011 24-4A all-district first team honors … as a junior, he posted a 0.95 ERA in 73 innings while allowing 13 walks and striking out 111 … in his sophomore season, he went 6-2 with a 1.19 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 59 innings … named as Dawson’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011 … earned all-district 24-4A second team honors as a freshman.
