· A four-year varsity letterwinner as an outfielder under Coach Danny Wallace at Georgetown (Texas) High School.
· Earned all-district first-team honors, All-Centex, District 14-5A, third-team all-state and all-county honors while captaining the Eagles[apos] run to the regional semifinals as a senior.
· Named first-team all-district and helped GHS win the bi-district title as a junior.
· Selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
· Lettered three years in football as a running back and one year in track in sprint relays.
· Named second-team all-district as a senior and first-team all-district as a junior in football.
· Regional qualifier in the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays for track as a junior.
· Played for the Austin SLAM club team as an outfielder for Coach Tommy Boggs.
· Named Premier All-Star and earned Team Texas honors for Austin SLAM.
